THE MOVING DAY TIMELINE: HOUR-BY-HOUR SCHEDULE FOR SUCCESS

THE MOVING DAY TIMELINE: HOUR-BY-HOUR SCHEDULE FOR SUCCESS

HOME SERVICE

Moving day may not be perfect. But it doesn’t have to be chaotic. The trick is to divide the day into small parts. Then, concentrate on what should be done at any stage. This way, you will remain in control until the last box is unloaded.

6:00 AM: Get up early and be organized

You should start your day early enough. Wear comfortable clothes and take a fast meal. This will keep your energy levels up.

Inspect the house. Check:

  • Closets
  • Cabinets
  • Storage spaces.

Make sure nothing is left behind.

Have a special bag of necessities, such as:

  • Documents
  • Chargers
  • Water
  • Simple tools.

7:00 AM: Move preparations

Clear paths, both indoors and outdoors. Do this before the movers arrive. Eliminate barriers that might delay loading or cause safety hazards.

Where possible, reserve a parking space near your entrance. This will minimize carrying distance.

8:00 AM: Liaise with the moving team

As the movers come, take them on a tour of your house. Show them:

  • Vulnerable objects
  • Heavy furniture
  • Boxes that need special treatment.

Good communication at this point avoids confusion later.

9:00 AM: Begin loading

During loading, professional teams from Arrow Moving typically organize items by weight and fragility. Large furniture and appliances are loaded first to provide a stable base within the transporting truck.

Keep an eye on the organization as the boxes are loaded. Make sure fragile boxes are well-handled. But do not micromanage. That can slow down the progress.

11:00 AM: Last check before takeoff

After loading most of the things, conduct another home walkthrough. Check all the:

  • Drawers
  • Cabinets
  • Storage areas.

Ensure that nothing is forgotten.

Switch off the utilities when necessary. Then, close windows and lock doors.

Always carry keys, documents, and your treasures along with you. Do not leave them in the moving truck.

12:00 PM: Commute to your new place

Unless you are traveling with the movers, you want to plan your route. Allow time for traffic or delays. Stay in touch with the travelling team to arrange the arrival time.

Take this time to get psychologically ready for unloading and placement in your new home.

2:00 PM: Oversee unloading

Upon the arrival of the movers, tell them where to set up the furniture and boxes. This is faster and more efficient with a labeling system (by room).

Pay attention to larger objects. This saves the hassles of transporting heavy furniture several times. Inspect during unloading to make sure that nothing is lost or broken.

4:00 PM: Start basic setup

After the unloading process, start to organize basic spaces like the bedroom and the kitchen.

  • Set up beds
  • Install required appliances
  • Unpack essential items.

Do not attempt to unpack at once. Focus on the functional items first. This way, you will get to relax during the first night.

6:00 PM: Wrap up and reset

Finally, take time to review the move. Make sure that everything has been delivered.

Dispose of packing materials where required. Then, develop a basic plan of how to unpack over the next few days.
